Universal Health Care Group was founded in Florida in 2002 by Dr. A.K. Desai, a licensed geriatrician and practicing physician. Universal Health Care Group is the parent company of four managed care companies that provide Medicare Advantage Health Plans to Medicare-eligible beneficiaries:
Universal Health Care, Inc. provides the “Medicare Masterpiece® (HMO)” and “Medicare Masterpiece® (PPO)” plans in the state of Florida, as well as Florida Medicaid benefits through its “Universal U-First®” Plan.
Universal Health Care Insurance Company, Inc. offers the popular Medicare Advantage “Any, Any, Any®” Plans. Universal HMO of Texas, Inc. provides Medicare Masterpiece® (HMO-POS) to Medicare beneficiaries in Texas. Universal Health Care of Nevada, Inc., which launches in January of 2011, will offer Medicare Masterpiece® (HMO-POS) in Clark County, Nevada.
Currently the Group is serving more than 97,000 individuals located in 13 states. Administrative functions for Universal Health Care Group are managed by American Managed Care.
